Please see the important message about YAC on the YAC News page.

YAC, which stands for the ever popular Young Archaeologists' Club, has two parts to it.

(1) YAC UK - is a magazine subscription package for 8 - 16 year olds who are interested in archaeology. Membership costs £15 per year for an individual child and the benefits include :-
4 copies a year of the fantastic Young Archaeologist magazine
a YAC badge-
a letter and certificate signed by Time Team's Tony Robinson
a YAC membership card
a YAC pass giving free or discounted entry to some of the top historic historic attractions throughout the UK plus other exclusive deals.
(Joining YAC UK does not mean that you will get automatic entry to a YAC Branch.)

(2) YAC Branches - There are over 70 YAC Branches all over the UK. Most meet about once a month, on a Saturday, and they are a great way to learn more about archaeology in your area. YAC Branches are all run by teams of volunteers who are vetted and checked by YAC HQ in York. There is a strict limit on how many members can attend a Branch so some Branches may have waitng lists or operate a booking system. To find your nearest YAC Branch and to discover details of how to contact them, click on the link below listing all branches. The Branch Leader will be able to tell you if there are any spaces available at the Branch and give you details about what they get up to.If you are interested in helping at a local branch or even setting up a new branch in your area please contact Wendi Terry at
wenditerry@britarch.ac.uk. The current YAC branches can be found  via :
